Hexagon and Dassault Systemes Form Strategic Alliance

NACKA STRAND, Sweden, Jan. 31, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hexagon's (Stockholm:HEXAb) software company, Wilcox Associates Inc. has announced an agreement with Dassault Systemes, Paris, France, that allows Wilcox to develop and offer a Direct CAD Interface(TM) (DCI) between its PC-DMIS(TM) measurement and inspection software and the CATIA Version 5 CAD system.

For the customer, this new interface will give an automatic transition from the design in the CAD system to PC-DMIS, which eliminates the risk of translation errors. This improves part programming accuracy and reduces programming time.

The agreement allows Hexagon to offer the same access to CAD tools in CATIA Version 5 as it does in CATIA Version 4, Solidworks, Unigraphics, ProEngineer, and IDEAs.

PC-DMIS software is available on all Hexagon Metrology Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) including Brown & Sharpe, DEA, Leitz, and CE Johansson. It has also been adapted to easy upgrading of other manufacturers' CMMs.
