English For Success -- An English text book geared toward the Spanish-speaking student

OXNARD, Calif., February 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- It is extremely difficult for someone who does not already know English to learn from a textbook printed only in English. Learning nouns and verbs is often difficult even for those who are born and bred speaking English. When author Juan Gonzalez came to the United States he searched for an English textbook that contained Spanish instructions, phonetic pronunciation and simple, user-friendly language. He could not find such a book and he promised himself he would create one someday. The fruit of his labors became his newly released book, English For Success: Ingles Para El Exito (now available through 1stBooks Library).

Due to an urgent need for a more productive method for Spanish individuals to learn English, Gonzaz has developed a book that allows students to feel at ease as they learn. Not only do students feel comfortable, but they also learn at a quick pace without even realizing it. By the end of the fifth lesson, students will have memorized 130 commonly used words and 30 phrases in addition to the alphabet, adjectives, indefinite and definite articles and the singular and plural used in conjunction with "is" and "are."

Because English is often pronounced differently than it is written, many first-time students believe English is nearly impossible to learn. To remedy that fear, Gonzalez has included excellent pronunciation exercises so that students can get used to the sounds of the words.

Although Spanish is his native language, Gonzalez also has an in-depth knowledge of Latin and Greek. He has a bachelor's degree in humanities and a master's degree in philosophy. He has wide-ranging experience in teaching, translating and interpreting.
