Born in a small town in Pennsylvania, Marilyn Peake spent her early years climbing trees and exploring the three acre woods behind her home. Writing was always an interest for her. In high school she wrote for two local newspapers and numerous short stories. She obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and later a master's degree in clinical psychology. She has worked as a staff psychologist and a social worker. Her hobbies include photography and traveling. She currently lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. The Fisherman's Son is her first novel.
