PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) --

PAL Day at the Blue Cross RiverRink
                      Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003
                         4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Festival Pier, Columbus Blvd. (at Spring Garden St.)

Tomorrow afternoon, over 250 Police Athletic League youngsters will take to the ice at the Blue Cross RiverRink thanks to T-Mobile and the Penn's Landing Corporation. The event is a first for the 55-year-old "Cops Helping Kids" organization, whose slate of winter activities traditionally includes only indoor sports and educational programs. As with all PAL programs, no child will pay a dime to participate in Tuesday's event, with skate rentals and ice time being provided completely free-of-charge.

"It's rare that PAL can offer its youngsters the chance to participate in an outdoor winter sport like ice skating," said Lt. Susan Slawson, PAL Commanding Officer. "We are grateful to T-Mobile, Penn's Landing and the Blue Cross RiverRink for coming together to give our kids a unique experience they might not otherwise get the chance to enjoy. 250 PAL kids on ice skates should be quite a sight to see!" she said.
