Skanska to Design and Build Secure Facility in London for SEK 616 M

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 11, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Skanska (Other OTC:SKSBF) has been contracted to design and build the Logford House Immigration Removal Center in London. Valued at GBP 46 M, corresponding to SEK 616 M, the contract will be included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2003. The customer is Premier Detention Services, a subsidiary of Premier Custodial Group.

The contract provides secure accommodations for detainees awaiting removal from the U.K. The three-story building will house 326 persons. It will be used by the Immigration and Nationality Directorate and will be operated by Premier Detention Services for eight years.

Premier Custodial Group has been one of Skanska's partners for privately financed secure facilities since 1996. To date, this cooperation has involved five privately financed prison facilities.

Through benefiting from this experience and using the same supplier chains and prefabricated elements, the entire project -- from detailed design to completed building -- can be carried out in 68 weeks. The project starts immediately and will be completed in the summer of 2004.
