Angels Are People Too -- New Book Recounts Stories of Everybody's Winged Friends

MARIETTA, Ga., March 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- For anyone who has ever felt an inexplicable presence in the room, they will find intriguing firsthand accounts of an author who believes in connections between this life and the next. Doris Davis shares her spiritual messages in her new book Angels are People, Too, and Other Life Lessons (now available from 1st Books library). Any individual who believes in the multiple facets of life, or in the possibility of multiple lives to live, will be interested in this subject, which Davis broaches in her warm and caring, and even occasionally humorous style.

Davis believes that the sole purpose of angels is to assist those in the realm of the living, but points out that they can offer only as much assistance as people are willing to accept. She describes her 30 year relationship with her unseen friends who she refers to as "The Guys." As messengers of God, they bridge the gap between our world and the terrain of those who have gone over to the other to the other side. Davis contends that the curtain separating these two worlds is surprisingly thin as she relates the unusual occurrences in her life that eventually led to communication with these extraordinary beings.

While they can give people strength and encouragement in handling our problems, Davis has learned that even angels can't do the work for them. A bride while still a teenager, she lived a very comfortable life as a doctor's wife for 20 years. The years that followed, however, were extremely difficult. Faced with a divorce, she persevered as a single mother caring for four children, enduring the inevitable financial hardships and the unexpected death of a son. This new life also included her transformation from doctor's wife to janitor.

She describes how the ups and downs and painful curves life throws each of us often shape the foundation of our spiritual beliefs. It was through these difficult trials that her connection and communication with the angels began. She acknowledges that the lessons learned from her "invisible friends" sustained her as she followed life's precarious paths. Her only advice: "Listen for your own angels. They may be trying to get your attention."
