The New Moshulu Opens in May with New Operator Who Seeks 150 Employees

PHILADELPHIA, March 26, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Moshulu -- the most unique waterfront restaurant on one of the world's grandest sailing ships -- will re-open on Penn's Landing in Philadelphia on May 1, 2003. Martin Grims, owner of Passerelle and many other restaurants, in partnership with his key management team, has taken over the operation of the Moshulu. The team includes Allan Vanesko, Executive Chef; Bill Bergan, General Manager; and, Ralph Fernandez, Restaurant Chef. They all bring fantastic history to the ship -- from being part of the opening team of the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia to the Pierre Hotel in New York City to running successful restaurants throughout the country.

The Moshulu is seeking 150 employees. Applications are being accepted immediately for various positions including dining room managers, wait staff, server assistants, bartenders, hosts and hostesses, sous chefs, pantry personnel, assistant pastry chefs and stewards.

Grims is very enthusiastic about this opportunity on the waterfront. The new Moshulu will be vibrant, energetic, fun with great food and great service appealing to all people in the Philadelphia region. Open year-round, the newly decorated Moshulu will present an intimate South Seas fantasy of bamboo, rattan, fine leather and seductive fabrics. The main dining room will offer an adventuresome menu exploring American contemporary cooking using nature's freshest ingredients. The outdoor decks will offer al fresco cafe dining, live entertainment and cocktails. The indoor lounge will also provide cafe dining with a 26-seat bar under a skylight.

Marty Grims, a highly respected restaurant owner, has several restaurants on the Main Line and is opening a new restaurant this spring called Plantation in Harvey Cedars/Loveladies. In addition to Passerelle, he owns the adjacent Bravo Bistro in Radnor, DuJour, a gourmet food market in Haverford and he's in partnership at Tango in Bryn Mawr and Basil in Paoli.

"I am very excited about opening the Moshulu," Grims said. "To me, the waterfront is Philadelphia's greatest untapped natural resource. The views are unparalleled and walking onto the ship's decks is a thrill like none other I have experienced in my business career!" He continued, "The Moshulu is a celebration of time-off, great food and hospitality as if you're on an exotic vacation without traveling a distance. I can't wait to share my enthusiasm with the people who live in our area."

With the Moshulu now docked on the Penn's Landing Marina next to the U.S.S. Olympia, her re-opening is the latest step in the revitalization of Penn's Landing and the Delaware River waterfront. Dominic Sabatini, president of Penn's Landing Corporation, is thrilled the Moshulu is located on the Penn's Landing Marina and sees her re-opening as a great boost to the waterfront and the region. "We have always believed the Moshulu was an important part of the attractions on Penn's Landing, and we look forward to working with Marty Grims and his staff who bring a refreshing enthusiasm to the waterfront."

The Moshulu is located at 401 S. Columbus Boulevard (between Lombard and Pine Streets). Parking is available adjacent to the boat with valet parking in the evening. The Moshulu will be open daily for lunch, dinner and late night entertainment. Private parties are available on the deck or in one of the indoor private rooms.
