The Misery of Marriage -- Newly released book offers tips on how to dispel the misery of marriage through God

DALLAS, March 28, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- "I will not be submissive. I will not be a doormat." Those who've spoken these words, can now find peace and understanding in Donna A. Gantt's newly released book, Marriage is Ministry, Not Misery: A Wife's Handbook (now available through 1stBooks Library).

Marriage is Ministry mainly targets women, especially those who are married or are planning on marriage. However, men can also benefit from Gantt's words, she notes. Gantt's book features practical tips, reveals the author's own experiences, poses questions and provides answers for readers and even serves as premarital counseling, she adds.

It is important for women to face God and their very own attitude on submission, the home, their husband's leadership and God's design for marriage. Once this is done, God will open their hearts to receive his principles and joys and will ask specific questions only they can answer, Gantt states. In order to release the misery in marriage, wives must accept their own responsibility, cease to point fingers, become obedient to God's word and function in their roles, the author adds.

Gantt hopes her book will encourage women to realize that "Satan can be beaten through obedience of God's word," and to find hope even in troubled marriages. Peace can be found within one's own spirit, she adds.

The author currently resides in Dallas with her husband, Paul, of 33 years. She has been a women's teacher for more than two decades and teaches that God's word is the only foundation for building lives and healthy marriages. Gantt attended South Oak Cliff High School, Mountain View College, Criswell College and Southern Bible Institute.

Marriage is Ministry is Gantt's first published work.
