Globix and The FeedRoom Serve Up Record Amount of War Coverage

NEW YORK, April 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Globix Corporation (OTCBB:GBXX) announced today that it served over 10.5 terabytes of streaming video and audio traffic in the opening hours of the Iraq War, setting a record for streaming traffic carried by the company.

Globix said that on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21, its network handled 6.5 million requests for streaming content. The company indicated that 4.6 terabytes of streaming data were served the first day and 5.9 terabytes the second day, and that over the combined 48-hour period it served 130,000 hours of streaming video and audio.

"Globix is proud to say that its tier-one OC-48 Internet backbone and EarthCache(tm) content distribution network provided thousands of Americans with a critical view into the opening hours of the conflict," said Pete Stevenson, the company's Chief Executive Officer. "This volume of traffic and demand attests to the strength and reach of our network and the power of our technology."

The FeedRoom (http://www.feedroom.com), a Globix customer and one of the largest Internet broadcasters in the world, accounted for a significant portion of the streaming demand on Globix's network. The FeedRoom operates a network of more than 100 streaming video sites in partnership with Reuters, NBC, Tribune Company, Business Week, Miramax Films and others, averaging 20 million streams of video per month to viewers worldwide.

"Globix's backbone and strategically placed caches performed flawlessly," said Jonathan Klein, The FeedRoom's Chief Executive Officer. "Their reliability was critical to the success of our network of sites and helped us to deliver the world-class TV-on-the-PC experience that viewers have come to expect from The FeedRoom and our partners."

Traffic has continued to exceed daily averages since the opening of the War in Iraq for both companies. "The public demands immediate access to information," said Stevenson. "And together, Globix and The FeedRoom are delivering it to them."
