Protect Data Supplies Another 10,000 Internet Bank Users with Security Solution

Satisfied Bank Customers Enter into Extended Framework Agreement with Protect Data

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 15, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ostgota Enskilda Bank has placed an additional order with the IT security company Protect Data regarding secure digital identities for users of the bank's Internet bank 'Hembanken.'

"The highest compliment we can receive is when our customers are so satisfied with us that they return time and time again," said Magnus Soderlind, President of Protect Data Solutions.

The extension of the framework agreement is making it possible to connect an additional 10,000 Internet bank customers, with delivery taking place during the current and the next quarter of this year.

"We have seen much proof that our range of IT security equipment is attractive. Ostgota Enskilda Bank's supplementary order is further confirmation of this. We enjoy a very good collaboration," said Magnus Soderlind.

"Our customers are satisfied and we are satisfied. In this way we can offer our customers a secure and user-friendly banking service over the Internet. That is why it is only natural for us to continue our collaboration with Protect Data," said Per Soderqvist, Production Systems Manager at Ostgota Enskilda Bank.

The security solution makes it possible for the user to identify him or herself by entering a PIN code on his or her security token and thereby achieve a secure digital identity. Protect Data's undertaking applies both to initiation and programming of the security tokens. The security solution is flexible and can be used in most types of system where users communicate with central applications.

The security solution has the advantage that it also works with a large number of users, as can be seen from other Internet banks that are using the same solution. In addition, the user is not tied to one place. The security solutions offers the bank's customers mobility in the execution of their banking transactions. All they need is a telephone or a computer with an Internet connection. The security tokens are produced by ActivCard and supplied by Protect Data on the Nordic market.
