Openly Gay Consultant Sets Out to Niche the Gay and Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) Community

FREDERICK, Md., April 23, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- When you're an openly gay business consultant, you have to make an entrance that no one in the gay and lesbian community will forget. You need to come out loud and proud, and Jim Jenkins, President of Creative Visions Consulting, has done just that!

Jenkins, also known as the Niche Fairy, has taken the Maryland and DC area by storm with his blend of coaching and consulting services. Global outreach is his ultimate goal. "I won't be satisfied until I know that I've helped contribute to the prosperity of GLBT professionals around the world." Jenkins just recently signed a client in New Zealand, and so he's well on his way to reaching his goal by the end of 2003.

Jenkins started Creative Visions Consulting two years ago, primarily to work with executives in corporations. While he still supports such clients as Booz Allen & Hamilton, the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, and Cambata China, Jenkins realized last year that there was an even more important audience for his coaching practice.

"I was working with Dr. Lynda Falkenstein, the 'Niche Doctor' and realized that I wanted to give back to a community that had supported me for over twenty years." Jenkins, who has been openly gay since the age of 15, is now 40 and wants to ensure that the coming out process for business professionals is a smooth one. "I had a lot of mentors who enabled me to survive being gay in Corporate America, and now I want to be there to help others. I want to help GLBT professionals to have lucrative and fulfilling careers by helping them come out and claim their niche in the business world. I think NicheCraft is a great way to make that happen!"

In fact, much of Jenkins' consulting practice is based on the highly popular NicheCraft system developed by Dr. Lynda Falkenstein. "NicheCraft helps you think strategically about your business and identify what you stand for. It's about achieving focus with purpose. It also helps you weigh in on how 'out' you want to be and the impact that it will have in your business."

Jenkins offers coaching and consulting services as well as NicheCraft-related teleclasses including Out With Your Niche and Create Your Niche on the Internet. When asked to explain his unique take on consulting, Jenkins says, "What I do is enable GLBT professionals to discover how to use their specialness to focus their business, corner their market and have customers seeking THEM out!"

Jenkins is also collaborating on an upcoming book with Dr. Falkenstein that will feature GLBT entrepreneurs who have made their mark in business. "My goal is to teach people that you can be out and proud AND be a success in today's economy. I look forward to featuring my own clients in this book as well as stories from other GLBT professionals all around the world!"
