SchoolWeb Installed In First Nations High School in Membertou, Nova Scotia

VANCOUVER, B.C., May 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Alternet Systems Inc. (OTCBB:ASYI) announces the sale and installation of a SchoolWeb high-speed internet system in Membertou High School, Nova Scotia.

The Company's SchoolWeb system and InterLink ISP system have been previously sold to First Nations clients at Peguis High School in Peguis, Manitoba and the community of Bella Bella, British Columbia.

The InterLink ISP system in Bella Bella provides high-speed internet service at an affordable cost, to the school, band office and store, as well as 200 homes that previously had to call long-distance for their internet access. Interlink has allowed the band to operate their own ISP company, efficiently and cost-effectively.

Alternet products SchoolWeb, Interlink and CommunityWeb meet the high-speed connectivity needs of rural and remote locations, for an affordable cost. There are over 1,500 native communities in North America.
