After the Crucifixion: Where Did Jesus Go? -- New Book Presents a Compelling Religious Novel

CAMARILLO, Calif., May 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Left unchecked, where will the ethical problems of today's society take the human race? This is the underlying theme of a first novel from Ruth Truman, author of Not Of This Fold (now available from 1stBooks Library).

Jesus awakens from the crucifixion on a strange planet, in a strange body, unable to remember where or who he is. The two goldskins who find him and the master teacher who retrains him are amazed at his sudden appearance. They wonder where he has come from and why his identification number is not imprinted on his silver body.

Darvo and Raiker are classified as goldskins on the planet of light, where the population is divided at puberty by a "great being," each one receiving a skin color, which determines that being's life work. Certainly, the genetic council has something to do with this rigid labor structure, but what? Meanwhile, the evil Dr. Davree is developing a plan to destroy the council and seize power for himself. Only if Jesus discovers his identity and mission can he stand between Davree and the future of the planet of light.

Because Truman has always looked for answers to unasked questions, she has written four additional books, including Underground Manual For Ministers' Wives and Other Bewildered Women, How To Be a Liberated Christian, The Mission of the Church College and Spaghetti From the Chandelier.

In these books, Truman explored the "role" of the minister's wife, the taboos of her conservative upbringing, what makes church colleges unique and laughter's role in life's hardships, respectively. Retired from a career in university administration while simultaneously being a pastor's wife, mother of four and grandmother of five, Truman now turns to fiction to answer the "what if" questions in life and faith. She hopes that readers looking into this landscape of the distant future and past might find some answers for living today. For more information on Truman and her book, access www.ruthtruman.com.
