The Bonds of Love -- New book tells story of three cousins struggling to find true love in different time periods

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., May 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Author Constance Blackburn has created a passionate story of romance and true love. In Drakonstan (now available through 1stBooks Library), both selfishness and selflessness are illustrated in this story of three cousins' love for each other.

In the feudal medieval times during the reign of Stephen the Weak, three cousins are born. Tristan is the eldest and their grandfather's favorite, but cannot inherit because of the circumstances of his birth. He captures his cousin Margaret's heart. She is also the heiress to Drakonstan. The third cousin, Richard, also cannot inherit because his mother is the youngest daughter in the family. Richard loves Margaret and wants to be the heir, but pushes his feelings aside to promote the romantic connection between her and Tristan. Margaret would have been content with Richard, but Tristan stole her heart long ago.

The three cousins' old Druidress, Griseld, strikes a bargain with the Old Ones to transport her beloved nurslings to another time that will take them away from the inevitable danger they face.

The cousins then are faced with the dilemmas in 1960s London, during the turbulent birth of rock n' roll. Margaret and Tristan grow apart because of totally opposite upbringing. But their children, twins Jason and Jeremy, 21, join their "Uncle Rick" to bring their parents back together. Will Margaret and Tristan rediscover their love? Will Richard be able to again sacrifice his own happiness or will he find a path to happiness with another?

Blackburn lives in eastern Tennessee with her family, including seven children and four grandchildren. She is planning to move to the West. Born in the suburbs of Chicago, she spent two years in the U.S. Air Force. She is an avid reader, especially of medieval and science fiction works.
