The CURVATION "Celebrate Your Curves" survey celebrates the over 60 million curvaceous women in the U.S. In a show of support for women with curves, the survey reveals that three-quarters of American women (73%) want the term plus-size replaced with a more positive term. The most popular new term was "Curvaceous"(40%).

American Men Say Curvy is Sexy

American men nationwide are revealing their appreciation for real women! The survey reveals that five out of ten men (49%) think curvaceous women are sexy and two out of five (42%) admit they are actually MORE attracted to curvaceous women. Additionally, a resounding 70% of men say curvaceous women can be fit and healthy, and two out of five say there is "nothing more natural than a curvaceous woman."

There is a New Trend and Hollywood is Listening!

"Don't be afraid of the curves!" urges Queen Latifah, CURVATION spokesperson. "I am proud to be a curvaceous woman and represent a brand like CURVATION that embodies the strong spirit of sexy, curvaceous women everywhere."

Americans increasingly want to see curvaceous, sexy women like Queen Latifah in the movies and on TV. According to the survey, more than three out of five women (62%) believe it's time curvaceous women had more prominent roles in film and TV. In fact, the majority of women find it easier to relate to curvaceous women on screen: more than half of women surveyed (53%) said that seeing these women in films and on TV helps them feel better about themselves.

Queen Latifah: An Inspiration to Women Everywhere

The curvaceous, Oscar-nominated actress Queen Latifah is in high demand these days. Echoing Hollywood's appreciation of Queen Latifah, almost fifty percent of Americans (47%) identify Queen Latifah as a positive role model for women of ALL ages, describing her as: successful (69%), confident (66%), smart (50%) and beautiful (40%).

Wanted: Intimate Apparel for Sexy, Curvaceous Women

"From our survey, we found that curvaceous women wish they could find lingerie to make them feel sexier (42%)," says Anne Jardine, Vice President and General Manager of CURVATION. -- Positively Curvy! 60% agree that the inclusion of curvaceous women in popular movies and TV shows sends a positive message to young women.

-- The Real Deal. Additionally, two-thirds of Americans (65%) agree that movies and TV shows that include curvaceous women are more real.

Leflein Associates, Inc. conducted this online survey of 1,000 adults (511 women and 489 men), ages 18 and over. Responses were accepted between March 10th and March 12th, 2003. The online panel surveyed was balanced by age, gender, and region, and is representative of the U.S. Internet population, with a margin or error of plus or minus 3 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.
