Running From the Unknown -- New Novel Follows Innocent Teenager as He Escapes Cross Country to Avoid Mysterious Assassins

COVINA, Calif., May 6, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- A recent high school graduate has to run for his life from unknown assailants and a hidden reason. His life on the line, the innocent teenager must find out who wants him dead and why in the new thriller, A Moving Target (now available through 1stBooks Library) by David Starr.

Starr thrusts Nick Peeler into danger in his new novel. Nick is a normal high school graduate living on a quiet street in a sleepy suburb. One night, while playing war games on the computer, he is warned to run for his life. At first thinking it is a joke, he splits when two men outside his house are given orders to abduct him. He sets out on the road to flee from the enemies, unable to discern why they stalk him.

Moving from the Los Angeles area, across the western United States, Nick finds mysterious people stalking him and others helping him. Unsure of whom to trust, Nick follows the advice of a girl named Mel. As answers start coming in, more questions materialize. Eventually, Nick will have to stop running and beat his pursuers at their own game.

A Moving Target combines technology and science fiction in a suspenseful journey of twist and turns that will keep readers gripped until the end.

Starr has over 10 years experience in the healthcare industry, however, his ongoing interest in computers is illustrated by his current position in information technology at the City of Hope, a comprehensive medical center. A graduate of the University of Redlands in California, Starr is a long time Los Angeles Lakers fan. A Moving Target is his first novel.
