NCC to Construct Foundations for New Bridge in Drammen, Norway, for SEK 124 million

SOLNA, Sweden, May 8, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- NCC Construction AS of Norway has been commissioned by Norway's National Road Administration to conduct foundation engineering and concrete work for a new bridge for the E18 highway through Drammen. The contract is worth approximately SEK 124 million (NOK 108 million).

The assignment consists mainly of foundation engineering and concrete work above and below water for a total of 41 foundations, of which 11 will be under water and 30 on land. All concrete structures will be made of cast-in-ground steel pillars. In addition, NCC will build all the necessary overtaking ramps and will also conduct water and sewage, cabling and railway work.

Work will commence immediately and be completed by December 2004. At most, 50 employees will be engaged in the project.

"This assignment is ideal for us. We have our own resources, including the requisite local and technical expertise, which can be assigned to the project right from the start," says Petter Moe, Regional Manager at NCC Construction AS.
