STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 09, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- United Biscuits is the leading manufacturer of biscuits in the U.K. and in Spain. The Spanish subsidiary, United Biscuits Iberia, has now chosen to implement ReadSoft's INVOICES-solution. The software will initially automate the processing of 60,000 supplier invoices annually.
United Biscuits Iberia, is a leading company in the food sector, manufacturing popular brand names such as McVitie's, Artiach, and Penguin. To further improve internal business processes, United Biscuits has chosen ReadSoft's solution to automate the processing of supplier invoices.
United Biscuits will install INVOICES in their head office in Barcelona, Spain. Their objective is to simplify the process of keying in data from their 40 main suppliers. The software from ReadSoft will minimize the need for manual handling in the accounts department.
"Like in many other deals with major corporations, this is a pilot installation. Naturally we are excited about the possibilities to further expand this technology into the rest of the group. After the first installation in Spain, the plan is take INVOICES to the United Kingdom where United Biscuits will further benefit from the business benefits of our products," said Jan Andersson, MD of ReadSoft.
United Biscuits has also installed ReadSoft's Integration Option Pack which integrates INVOICES with their SAP R/3 Business System. This Option Pack, certified by SAP, allows for a seamless connection between both systems, further simplifying the process while saving United Biscuits both time and money.
What is INVOICES?
The software INVOICES is designed to recognize unstructured invoice documents and capture data such as sender, invoice number and invoice amount from anywhere on the invoice. At the same time, the software checks the data against information in the customer's business system.
