New Subscription Forms Mean more Choice for Vodafone's Customers

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Vodafone Sweden (NYSE:VOD) is now introducing two new subscription forms -- Vodafone 60 and Vodafone 120 -- which make it easier for customers to make decisions concerning their mobile lifestyle and costs. Among other things, Vodafone's customers can, when buying a new mobile phone, regulate its price themselves and subscribe to SMS and data packages that offer lower prices for text messages and data traffic.

The new subscription forms, Vodafone 60 and Vodafone 120, have been developed with the idea of allowing customers, wherever possible, to make their own decisions concerning their communication and ensure that they have maximal control over their mobile costs.

"Nowadays, mobile communication is part of people's lifestyles, Many of the activities we engage in during a normal day, from staying in touch with those who mean most to us to accessing entertainment and information, are facilitated by the use of mobile phones. We do however have different needs and requirements when it comes to our mobility. Vodafone 60 and Vodafone 120 are designed, together with our SMS and data package offerings, to meet these different needs and allow customers more scope to decide over and control their mobile lives to a greater extent," said Goran Mannerstrale, Director of Consumer Affairs at Vodafone Sweden.

The various SMS packages allow Vodafone' customers to choose to connect their subscription to one of four different SMS packages for the Vodafone 60 or Vodafone 120 subscriptions. They can then send SMSs at a cheaper rate and their overview of the monthly costs involved in SMSing is enhanced.

The packages are known as SMS 25, SMS 50, SMS 100 and SMS 200, where the numbers in the names refer to the number of SMSs included. The largest package, SMS 200, for example, offers the subscriber a price of SEK 1.10 per SMS. Similar packages are also available for data traffic (GPRS).

Vodafone 60 and Vodafone 120 have also been specially designed to offer the customers greater opportunities of making their own decisions on how their costs should break down in terms of monthly fees and fixed subscription periods when they buy a new mobile phone. By choosing a higher monthly fee, for example, customers can obtain a lower price for the mobile phone of their dreams when making their purchase. There are also several combinations for the customers to choose from, based on both monthly fees and the length of the fixed subscription period.

The Vodafone 60 and Vodafone 120 subscriptions will replace Vodafone's Easy Fritid, Multi and Surf subscriptions and are available as of today.
