Telelogic Announces ChangeSynergy Integration with TestDirector

Integration of Change Management and Test Management Improves Visibility, Communication and Software Quality

MALMO, Sweden, May 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm:TLOG) (Other OTC:TGIAF), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that the integration between ChangeSynergy version 4.3 and Mercury Interactive's TestDirector(R) 7.6 has been validated by Mercury Interactive, the global leader in business technology optimization. The validated integration (version 3.1) was just released this week.

Telelogic ChangeSynergy is an entirely Web-based and fully integrated change request tracking and reporting system that enables organizations to respond to changes from both outside and inside sources. It introduces control to the entire software development lifecycle by providing reliable, end-to-end task-based and process-driven automation across centralized and distributed teams in technical and business organizations. Mercury Interactive's TestDirector, is the global test management solution that facilitates a consistent and repeatable testing process.

"Integrating Telelogic ChangeSynergy with Mercury Interactive's TestDirector delivers a new level of synchronization between change management and testing activities," said Anders Lidbeck, president and CEO of Telelogic. "The combination of these two state-of-the-art solutions will provide users with higher quality products, shorter time- to-market and reduced development costs, even for organizations that have thousands of developers in teams scattered around the world."

"Tighter integration between test management and change management is another step forward in optimizing application quality," said Jim Hare, director technology alliances at Mercury Interactive. "As a result of this integration, users can now work with the two leading products in their respective categories."

The integration between Synergy and TestDirector integration allows for the bi-directional management of defects from Telelogic Synergy and TestDirector. This enables defects to be entered through either Synergy or TestDirector and managed from both tools. Any defects found during testing can be properly managed by development and testers are quickly notified when a defect is resolved. As a result of this integration, development team members and managers can work with ChangeSynergy while testers still perform all operations from within TestDirector. This reduces cost of deployment and training as users can work in familiar environments.

The integration between Synergy and TestDirector also delivers a high level of automation. For example, trend analysis defect reports can be used to evaluate code as well as developer and tester productivity. Management can then identify strengths and weaknesses and take appropriate action.

Synergy's central repository provides full visibility to all change requests, including defects. This visibility enables development and testing teams to better communicate and collaborate during the development and testing process. By improving communication between developers and testers, Development and Quality Assurance groups can be more productive.

Automation of Lifecycle Management Activities Telelogic also offers a feature-rich integration between DOORS(R) - its market leading requirements tool -- Synergy and TestDirector. An automated interface between requirements and test management enables requirements, changes, defects and tests to be organized and managed. By closing the loop between specification and testing, it is now possible to test that each requirement has been fulfilled, rather than just test what has been built. This ensures that when the final product is delivered it is exactly what everybody wants.
