CFO of Los Angeles Dodgers to Address Financial Executives International

Cristine Hurley to Discuss Financial Issues Unique to Professional Sports at FEI Dinner Meeting


LOS ANGELES, May 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Los Angeles chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) today announced that Cristine Hurley, Chief Financial Officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will address the organization regarding the financial issues unique to professional sports such as revenue sharing arrangements, the Major League Baseball collective bargaining agreement, and insurance. Hurley is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting and strategic planning as well as Information Systems and Merchandise/Vero Beach Finance for the baseball team.

Ms. Hurley will share her inside financial and strategic knowledge about the exciting world of professional sports, and promises to be a colorful guest speaker."

Hurley came to the Dodgers after spending six years at the Walt Disney Company where she held multiple roles in Buena Vista Pictures Marketing, Theatrical Productions and Management. Prior to joining the Walt Disney Company, she worked for Ernst & Young and earned her CPA designation. Ms. Hurley is also West Regional Chairman for the Major League Baseball CFOs, serves on the Board of Directors for the Dodger Dream Foundation, Major League Baseball Insurance Captive, NAIL and MIRA Outdoor. Over the years, Hurley has done extensive work with the Lung Association and the Parkinson's Foundation.

Prior to Ms. Hurley's presentation, nationally prominent economist, Donald Straszheim, president of Straszheim Global Advisers and former chief economist of Merrill Lynch, will give a presentation about the economic outlook for the next year. His outlook will be of special significance as many financial executives begin the annual budgeting process. Straszheim was also former president of the Milken Institute, an economic think tank. Stratszheim's speech begins at 5:00 pm on May 22, also at the Jonathan Club.
