Northrop Grumman Awarded Gold Medal for On-Time Delivery and Product Quality

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector has been named winner of a Best Value Gold Medal from the Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR), for achieving perfect scores in product quality and on-time delivery of parts and assemblies for four aircraft: the F/A-18 Super Hornet, B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, F-5 fighter and T-38 trainer.

The sector has received numerous quality recognition awards from the DSCR, but 2002 was the first time that work on four aircraft qualified for "Gold" recognition in the same year.

"This award reflects our employees' commitment to providing our military customers with the best in quality, schedule and cost performance," said Gary W. Ervin, sector vice president, Air Combat Systems.

The DSCR in Richmond, Va., presents awards to contractors that achieve quality and delivery scores between 98-100 over a 12-month period. Northrop Grumman achieved a perfect score to earn the Best Value Gold Medal award. The awards will be presented in June at a ceremony in Richmond.
