Like Father, Not Necessarily Like Son -- New Novel Follows Private Eye Hoping to Convince Son to Join the Business

SEAFORD, N.Y., May 28, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Fathers often have schemes and plans of grandeur in their heads when they think of their sons' future. Jamaica Biltmore is not the average father, but his head is filled with plans for his son, Joe. Joe has different ideas, but will give his father the chance to convince him in the new novel, Jamaica Biltmore: Cash, Guns and Fly Rods (now available through 1stBooks) by Thomas Greco.

Greco gives the world a fresh brother Shamus known as Jamaica Biltmore, New York City private eye. Not the average father, Jamaica had planned for years to turn his business over to his son, Joe. Joe has his own plans, however. He wants to go to college because his dad's business seems too dangerous for him. The two come up with an alternate plan. Joe will try the private eye business for a summer. If he doesn't like it, he is off to college in the fall. An agreement settled on, Jamaica makes sure to add that Joe doesn't get a gun.

On a sultry July day, the case of a lifetime saunters into Jamaica's restaurant. Joe sees a run of the mill missing person case, but Jamaica has a gut feeling, and his gut never lies. The new client ends up dead 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant. Even though he was right, this may be a case that Jamaica can't handle. Still, Jamaica Biltmore tells his fast paced, quick witted story as he takes readers from New York to Key West to Las Vegas and enlists the help of a police captain, a Navy admiral and a world famous mystery writer to lure his son into his world.

Greco thrusts the reader into the middle of a mystery with more twists and turns than a roller coaster and a speed that will leave readers out of breath. Will Joe be scared away to college or become enthralled in the underground world of private investigation? Jamaica Biltmore can only give the answers.

Greco owns his own business in Connecticut and lives on Long Island with his wife and four children. Jamaica Biltmore: Cash, Guns and Fly Rods is his first novel.
