Learning from the Mistakes of Others -- New Book Helps Educators and Parents Instill Values in Children from Author Experience

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario, June 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teachers and parents are seen as the carpenters of the generation of the future. However, no one can maintain perfection, which is why Ingrid U. Hearn has written her new book, My Teacher Life: Why Make Your Own Mistakes When You Can Learn From Mine? (now available through 1stBooks).

Hearn takes an up close and personal look at the education profession. Drawing from her own experience as a teacher, she provides numerous strategies and candid insights to provide positive ways to build confidence and sense of worth in children. While celebrating, inspiring and offering motivation for those brave teachers and parents, Hearn presents serious messages and experiences in her own easily read and light hearted style.

With 22 chapters, Hearn deals with the material that applies most to those providing solid, character building values in children. Chocked full with humorous anecdotes, classroom strategies, inspirational sayings, poems and more, My Teacher Life shares some valuable and often painful experiences to help others.

"The lives of precious children are in our hands and we must do everything in our power to provide them with the tools to build a positive and purposeful future," Hearn says.

Hearn has taught most of her life. A mother of three, she knows the difficulties of raising children while teaching others. With her knowledge, she hopes her book will help educators and parents learn from her mistakes. Currently, she works as a music/drama director and has created a motivational lecture series, "Learn with Hearn," targeted at school faculties and school boards. She says her goal is to praise and support the profession in her lectures and her first book, My Teacher Life.
