The LPD 17 San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, which is being built by Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Ship Systems sector, recently received its second all-enclosed composite mast. The 74-foot tall mast was lifted aboard the San Antonio at the company's Avondale Operations in New Orleans. The masts are the largest composite structures ever installed on U.S. Navy steel ships.
