Northrop Grumman Hosts Grand Opening For New St. Louis-Area Facility

O'FALLON, Ill., June 16, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will dedicate a new St. Louis-area facility in O'Fallon, Ill., today at 670 Pierce Blvd. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. CDT.

Highlighting the occasion will be remarks by U.S. Rep. Jerry F. Costello representing Illinois' 12th congressional district; William Houlihan, representing U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin, Springfield, Ill.; O'Fallon Mayor Gary Graham; and Barry Rhine, president, Defense Mission Systems, Northrop Grumman Information Technology.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector designed and built this new 30,000 square-foot facility to support the Global Transportation Network (GTN)-21 contract, which the company was awarded last year by the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). The sector's work here will improve the ability to provide near real-time visibility of passengers and material moving through the Defense Transportation Systems. Construction of the facility was completed in April.

"This new building will contain approximately 150 Northrop Grumman IT employees, teammates and government personnel, all dedicated to supporting the GTN-21 contract," said Rhine. "The O'Fallon workforce has a myriad of talent and skills."

Robert K. Hutchings, department manager, GTN-21 program manager, Mobility Systems, Defense Mission Systems, Northrop Grumman IT, will serve as the company's lead executive at the facility.

In addition to Costello, Houlihan, Graham and Rhine, other officials participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony include Lt. Gen. Gary Hughey, deputy, USTRANSCOM; Maj. Gen. Carlos "Butch" Pair, chief of staff, USTRANSCOM; Col. Paul Capasso; Virginia Williamson, U.S. Air Force Program Element Office; and Col. Steve Tate, USTRANSCOM, as well as other company, government and community officials.
