ONEIDA, N.Y., June 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Oneida Ltd. (NYSE:OCQ) has named Paul M. Rooney as Corporate Controller, succeeding Thomas A. Fetzner, who retired May 30.
Mr. Rooney will oversee Oneida's day-to-day accounting operations and will report to Gregg R. Denny, Chief Financial Officer.

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. "Paul comes to Oneida with an impressive and wide-ranging financial background that is well suited to his responsibilities here."
A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Rooney for the past four years was Chief Financial Officer of the Carlisle Walker Group of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, a division of Carlisle Companies Incorporated, a diversified manufacturer. Prior to that, his positions included Audit Manager for KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP; and Senior Accountant for Ernst & Young, LLP.
A graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., Mr. Rooney and his family will be relocating to the Central New York area.
