MALMO, Sweden, July 9, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm:TLOG) (Other OTC:TGIAF), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that Telelogic SYNERGY(tm) received the highest ratings in six categories in Ovum's latest in-depth report on configuration management tools. Ovum evaluated fourteen tools in 10 categories for its May 2003 publication of Ovum Evaluates: Configuration Management.
In the category for usability, SYNERGY was the only tool to receive a nine rating, a two-point improvement since Ovum's last review of the tool. Ovum cited SYNERGY's ActiveCM interface, which runs in the background and makes most configuration management and version control activities transparent to the user, for the increased rating. Ovum wrote, "ActiveCM is a pioneering usage model that sets new standards of usability for the industry."
In addition, SYNERGY received Ovum's top ratings for configuration management, change management, build and release support, web support and project support. In the four remaining categories -- team support, replicated repositories, process management and administration -- SYNERGY was rated just one point behind the leader.
"CM SYNERGY is a comprehensive SCM product, readily identifiable with large project- and enterprise-wide CM applications," wrote Ovum's Clive Burrows and Ian Wesley. "Mature CM practitioners that understand configuration management and need to implement some measure of process should put CM SYNERGY high on their list of tools to consider.
"The key characteristics of the Telelogic CM toolset are its strong embedded support for process and its breadth of software configuration management (SCM) coverage," Burrows and Wesley wrote. Other tools rated in Ovum's May 2003 report include: StarTeam, AllFusion Endevor, AllFusion Harvest, ClearCase, ClearCase LT, SCLM Suite, PVCS Dimensions, PVCS Professional, Visual SourceSafe, Source Integrity EE, Perforce, ChangeMan DS and ChangeMan ZMF.
