Will Rider, a good-hearted homeless man, approaches Sean at his home, offering work for food. This hobo tells him all about riding the train rails and the tough life of a wanderer. With a stepfather who's near the edge of destruction, Sean leaves, looking for Will. Will left his diary with Sean, describing the evil homeless man riding the country's rail system.

Red Dragon is extremely dangerous. Will is searching for Red Dragon while Sean searches for Will. Sean not only learns first-hand the life of the people who ride the rails, but catches up to a killer in the process.
