A Golden Fairy Tale -- A Young Prince Must Fight to Return to the Arms of His Princess in this Children's Story

GLENDALE, Calif., July 16, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Once upon a time, there was a land of magic and a kingdom of beauty. All the people lived in peace, and the King and Queen lived happily with their noble son, the prince. Until one day, the kingdom falls into the darkness of war, and the prince is captured. A story of magic and enchantment lies within the pages of The Golden Vase (now available through 1stBooks), by Alekssander Rockhewn.

In the first installment of Rockhewn's fairy tales, King Andrew is a young man taking over his father's kingdom. He inherits a crumbling kingdom with administrators that lie and deceive. Then an old mysterious gypsy woman appears and helps Andrew regain himself and his kingdom. The beautiful Anna catches his eye and his heart falls deeply in love and they live happily ever after.

Years in the future, the reader meets young Prince Charles, the son of Andrew and Anna, who is just as restless as his father. Charles possesses a wonderful gift for making magnificent vases. His eyes are smitten with the simple and beautiful Margaret. Charles' talent creates the most spectacular vase for her, and she agrees to be his bride. Then the darkness covers the land. Steven the Terrible arrives to wreak havoc across the kingdom. War breaks out, and Charles is captured disguised as a common solider. He is delivered into slavery and only his talents will save him so he may return him to his love.

Alekssander Rockhewn was known as the great storyteller of his neighborhood twisting words and capturing minds with every turn of his fantastic stories. He picked up the ability from his grandmother, who used to wrap him in a quilt of old fairy tales before bed. He has written numerous stories and poems and has made up countless fairy tales for his children. Finally, he began to write some down. He feels that his stories are not only interesting, but also promote good morals and values for children. The Golden Vase is Rockhewn's first book and three more are in the works.
