The Latest Edition of Yosemite's Flagship Backup Software Offers a Super-Charged Recovery Solution

FRESNO, Calif., Aug. 6, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Yosemite Technologies today announced that HP (NYSE:HPQ) is now shipping TapeWare XE Version 7.0 with a range of HP tape drives. HP customers have been receiving TapeWare XE bundled with HP tape drives for several years now. The latest release of TapeWare XE -- Version 7.0 with enhanced functionality -- has now replaced TapeWare XE Version 6.3 in HP bundled tape drive products. HP tape drives bundled with TapeWare XE include selected DAT, first-generation LTO Ultrium, and DLT VS products. HP includes TapeWare XE with its tape drives to provide a complete backup solution straight out of the box.

TapeWare XE Version 7.0 incorporates a robust feature-set, including a new Web Gateway to provide centralized or remote management for cross-platform environments; and interleaving, which can handle up to eight data streams per tape device. Other features include unlimited slot library support, device level diagnostics, load balancing and additional driver support. Support for HP's One-Button Disaster Recovery is also provided.

A multi-platform backup and recovery software TapeWare XE supports Windows, Netware and Linux. Yosemite Technologies designed the software specifically for the Small-to-Medium Business (SMB). Version 7.0 is amongst the first to receive Microsoft certification for Windows Server 2003, which allows end users to seamlessly upgrade to the platform without the expense of installing new compatible software.

Yosemite Technologies' TapeWare offers a simplified licensing model with a "building block" approach to customized data protection. The flexibility of this licensing model is ideal for customers who have received the bundled TapeWare XE backup and restoration product through HP and want to upgrade using a cost-effective solution to ensure complete data protection. Even greater functionality is available with Version 7.0 through upgrades including: Agent for Microsoft SQL Server, Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server and Library Expansion Pack.

"HP provides complete backup solutions for customers in the small to medium business market.
