LOVELAND, Colo., Aug. 7, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) --- Desert Mining, Inc., (OTCBB:DSRM) today announced that it has acquired the oil and gas rights to just over 6,000 acres of BLM land in Wyoming. At an auction held August 5, 2003, Desert Mining was high bidder for the oil and gas rights on approximately 622 acres of BLM land in Carbon County, 640 acres in Sweetwater County, and 4,767 acres in Sublette County.
Mr. Gabriel Holt, a Director and Oil Field Operations Manager for the Company stated: "We are very excited about the recent oil and gas rights acquisitions. In particular, we are very pleased with the Sublette County leases because they adjoin the Jonah Field, located south of Pinedale, Wyoming, which is currently one of the largest natural gas production fields in the country.
