Northrop Grumman Launches New First Responder Command and Control System

HERNDON, Va., Aug. 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that it has released a new first responder command and control software for law enforcement, fire, emergency medical agencies and other incident management activities. CommandPoint(TM) is the latest application suite released by Northrop Grumman Information Technology's (IT) public safety business, designed and developed to enhance the readiness, response and recovery operations of any public safety agency.

CommandPoint(TM) is designed as a core application for the expanding market for emergency operations centers and extends the industry-leading position of Northrop Grumman's integrated product suite of first responder software applications.

"CommandPoint(TM) brings a state-of-the-art integration capability to both first responder and emergency management solutions," said Skip Funk, president, Northrop Grumman Public Safety, Inc. "From notification, to response, escalation, containment and recovery, effective crisis management is measured through the coordinated command and control of information resources."

This new application is the first public safety offering from Northrop Grumman to use the Microsoft.net technologies and the Windows XP operating system, which provide ease of use with fewer forms and increased user preferences. CommandPoint(TM) also allows for increased speed in the execution of commands, enabling faster response times.

In addition to the new CommandPoint(TM) application suite, the company recently acquired Mobile Access Software, Inc. (MASI), a San Diego-based firm specializing in software products and systems for the public safety market.
