BuyMusic.com Launches `Users Upgrade'

Initial Customer Input Leads to Several Immediate Upgrades in Revision 1.2

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., August 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- BuyMusic.com(TM), the world's largest legal music download store for PC users, today announced its new Revision 1.2. Just three weeks after its initial launch, the music download site has more features, including more independent labels and songs, the ability to download albums in just one click, and an easier checkout process with fewer steps.

"We have listened to customer input and worked very hard to make these improvements," said Elizabeth Brooks, vice president, Marketing for BuyMusic.com. "BuyMusic.com is continuing to work with the record companies to make digital rights more user-friendly so customers have the best possible music experience."

The revisions offer BuyMusic.com customers a more streamlined experience. For example, once a customer has created an account, the site makes it easy to purchase as many songs as the user desires. It is no longer necessary to input a security code several times.

 Other features include:

-- Reducing clicks required at checkout -- download manager
automatically manages the downloading process of multi-file
    downloads with one click

-- Download delivery option -- customer may specify delivery to the
current computer or to a different computer

 -- Additional 2,000 tracks added

-- Personalization -- site now welcomes you by name

-- Updated list of approved portable devices

-- Customers can request to receive a message notifying them when a
    specific track is available

"We are continuing to build upon this feature set and will be increasing the personalization to work with the user's musical tastes and preferences," said Brooks. "Currently, we are finalizing deals with large independents in every genre and will continue to add new content partners in order to give our consumer the best access to the most music."

Industry experts feel that sites like BuyMusic.com are a move in the right direction. Josh Bernoff, an entertainment industry analyst for Forrester Research Inc., told the San Francisco Chronicle on August 4, 2003, "You can't destroy piracy, but at the same time, you can create a culture where paying for downloading music is easy, moral and fun."

Individual songs on BuyMusic.com are available from 79 cents and albums from $7.95 from the top five record labels and thousands of independent labels. The site also offers the ability to view BuyMusic.com commercial spots. A hardware store at BuyMusic.com offers a list of the latest approved portable digital music players (DMPs), CD recorders, CDR software, CDR media, personal music hard disk storage and BuyMusic.com "Get Loaded" T-shirts.
