Semotus Solutions Grows HipLinkXS Customer Base and Announces New HipLinks Version 3.2

SAN JOSE, Calif., August 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK), a leading provider of software for mobile enterprise applications, announced today the highly anticipated release of version 3.2 of HipLinkXS, the company's flagship wireless communications solution, and several recent deployments of the software.

HipLinkXS works as a network event alerting software when integrated with network monitoring applications. With the release of 3.2, HipLinkXS expands upon the software's notification capabilities, and can now alert users of malfunctioning hardware devices, using SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) traps.

"This capability truly evolves HipLinkXS into more than a systems notification solution," explained Cornel Fota, Semotus CTO. "Using SNMP traps, HipLinkXS is capable of receiving alarms from multi-vendor network devices or third party monitoring software."

Version 3.2 also offers more sophisticated message filtering options that let Administrators configure what types of messages receivers can get, based on content, number of messages, and other defined parameters. Semotus' engineering team enhanced HipLinkXS' filtering capabilities in order to help large companies streamline the number of out-going messages.

Newest HipLinkXS sales include Toyota of Europe, Rolex, Snohomish County, Chelan County Public Utilities Department and CMS Information Services (the first to purchase SNMP Traps). A wide range of organizations use HipLinkXS, all looking to centralize their communication processes and provide a mobile "link" to their internal applications.

HipLinkXS is a powerful, state-of-the-art messaging solution that enables delivery of critical messages to and from the field with the customer's choice of carriers and devices, and is designed to fully integrate with any enterprise application as the alert notification component. Users can send messages and request a response back from the receiver, with the ability to automatically trigger server processes based on the response from the field. www.hiplinkwireless.com.
