California Awards Northrop Grumman Project Management Contract For Child Support System

HERNDON, Va., Aug. 20, 2003 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Information Technology (IT) sector has been selected to provide project management services for California's Child Support Automation System (CCSAS) project. CCSAS is run by the state Department of Child Support Services.

The project management engagement extends for two years plus three one-year options, with a total contract value of more than $8.9 million over the entire term.

When fully deployed, CCSAS will integrate all of California's child support cases and information -- currently tracked in six different systems -- into a single system for all 58 counties in California. The IT team of certified project managers and subject matter experts will assist the state in implementing the CCSAS project and will ultimately transition its project management to state personnel.

"Northrop Grumman is committed to project management excellence," said Cheryl Janey, vice president, State and Local Solutions, IT sector. "For a program as complex and important as CCSAS, effective project management during the term of the effort is crucial."

Northrop Grumman IT will be responsible for administering selected project management processes, including planning, scheduling, analysis, reporting and other support; communicating project-level information to the enterprise level CCSAS staff.
