Entec Software introduces VoIP Gateway Billing Solutions for VoIP carrier businesses and Prepaid Calling Card providers

VANCOUVER, Wash., Aug. 29, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nettel Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:NTTL) subsidiary, Entec Software is pleased to present VoIP Gateway Billing Solutions (VGBS v1.0) for VoIP carrier businesses providing origination, termination, wholesale, and prepaid calling card services.

VGBS v1.0 is a complete solution with Gatekeeper software and Billing software built into one package. This built-in billing system supports both pre-paid and post-paid client accounts. VGBS v.1.0 makes it possible for a VoIP service provider to deploy calling card telephony facilities built around Quintum, Lucent and Cisco VoIP Gateways and other RADIUS-compliant VoIP gateways for authentication, authorization & accounting.

As a gatekeeper VGBS v1.0 supplies gateways and terminals with network registration/authentication, user accounts, routing tables, rate plans, telephone numbers, a billing platform, CDR logs, network/database operations, administration and maintenance. In addition, VGBS v1.0's gatekeeper is a software solution that accesses either MS SQL or Oracle databases with accounting and configuration information. All configuration and monitoring access to the gatekeeper is through a web-based interface which allows many users to access the database simultaneously while maintaining permissions lists for each user.

VGBS v1.0 also acts as a billing platform for post-paid, pre-paid and calling card accounts, with each account being configured according to the customer needs (ANI authentication, authorization code and PIN, separately or as a combination for added security). It even generates the unique authorization code at the click of a button. Only one VGBS v1.0 software installation is needed for the network to operate; however, for redundancy, and for larger networks, multiple installations are recommended.

Currently, VGBS v1.0 is compatible with H.323-compliant IP telephony elements from Cisco, Quintum, and Lucent and it runs on a Windows 2000 Server platform. VGBS v1.0 functionality includes: registration, address translation, Admissions control, bandwidth control , call control signal-in and call authorization.

VGBS v1,0's Back-Office Package is a centralized client/server software package that performs critical back-office functions, including call rate determination, account management, real-time billing and network configuration. The Back-Office Package performs centralized configuration of the Gatekeepers in addition to account management. Using a Web-based interface, the Back-Office Package allows all configuration and customer service functions to be performed from anywhere on the IP network. Customers may also access their account information via the web.

The Back-Office Package includes everything carriers need to set up and operate long distance telecommunications services over a network of gateway IP's, telephony gatekeepers, media gateways, and interactive voice response powered networks in addition to compatible third-party units. Tightly integrated and highly flexible, the Back-Office Package includes support for centralized network administration, centralized account management, detailed account report generation and Web-based account transactions.

Carriers and ISP's can build global IP Telephony networks offering subscribers reduced cost real time fax and voice services, together with many advanced services. The VBGS v1.0 platform currently offers the following suite of services:
