Summer Lovers Reunite After 30 Years -- Author touches on subjects of love and loss using colorful characters

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., September 4, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Jack Green and his classmate Sylvia learned about love and sex together during a hot summer when they were both only 15-years-old. That autumn Sylvia's family moved to California. Although she promised to write Jack, she never did. Trying to figure out why has haunted Jack throughout his adult life.

In Love Merry-Go-Round (available from 1stBooks), author Bill Brown, of Beaumont, Texas, portrays the innocence of Jack and Sylvia's sexual awakening and then continues by tracing Jack's romantic turmoil once Sylvia exits his life.

After losing Sylvia, Jack experiences many sexual encounters with women. Some of his relationships last only a few hours, while others last many months. Regardless, something goes awry every time he tries to make a serious commitment: one lover dies in an accident, another becomes a prostitute, two others put their careers first, one has a religious conflict and another is already engaged.

In addition to these failed relationships, Jack also marries twice. One marriage is annulled because the wife was already married to another man. The other marriage ends in divorce, after the wife cleans out Jack's bank account and jaunts to Mexico with another man.

Jack soon begins to worry that his romantic life is jinxed. He can't stop thinking about Sylvia either, so he hires a private detective to find out why Sylvia never wrote to him so many years before. When Jack finally discovers the truth, he decides to visit Sylvia. Will their teenage love bloom again?
