Nomadix Releases New Wireless Gateway -- The AG-2000w is the Market's Most Advanced 'HotSpot-in-a-Box'

AG-2000w Combines the Nomadix Service Engine Software with a High Performance Dual Band Tri-mode Wi-Fi Radio

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Sept. 9, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nomadix, Inc. (www.nomadix.com), the leading supplier of Public-access solutions, today announced the release of the AG-2000w, its new Wireless Gateway. The AG-2000w rounds out the Nomadix family of Access Gateways, combining the Nomadix Service Engine(tm) (NSE) software with a high performance, dual band tri-mode Wi-Fi radio. In addition to running the full set of Public-access features contained within the NSE Core, the AG-2000w offers several Optional Module Upgrades that can be tailored to create an ideal Wi-Fi service offering or enable a wholesale provider to offer access over a large footprint to many retail providers.

"The Nomadix Wireless Gateway is the only gateway of its kind on the market today. It supports IEEE 802.11b/g/a standards, providing maximum rollout flexibility for the provider creating the ideal 'HotSpot-in-a-Box,'" said John DiGiovanni, director of marketing for Nomadix. "The AG-2000w is designed to leverage a centralized provisioning system to provide a hassle-free service to the end user. It also offers a cost effective solution that can enable a variety of billing models while seamlessly interfacing with the provider's infrastructure."

Nomadix' AG-2000w is an integrated Wi-Fi HotSpot device that combines the company's patented and patent-pending Public-access features contained in the NSE with a powerful Wi-Fi radio, maximizing range and coverage to create a superior solution for single-cell HotSpot locations. With the addition of the AG-2000w to Nomadix' line of Access Gateways, carriers, service providers, wireless ISPs and HotSpot owners can now look to a single supplier of solutions servicing all types of venues to roll out a unified Wi-Fi service offering.

Nomadix has collaborated with best-of-breed suppliers to bring the AG-2000w to market. The AG-2000w uses the high performance, cost effective Intel(r) IXP420 network processor making it ideally suited for a Public-access HotSpot solution. The IXP420 delivers exceptional packet processing performance under lower power consumption requirements. The Radio Interface of the AG-2000w is an Atheros Communications' IEEE 802.11b/g Mini-PCI product. Atheros Communications is a leading developer of multi-mode wireless networking technologies.

Nomadix offers two configurations of the AG-2000w, the AG-2000w supports IEEE 802.11b/g and the AG-2000wa supports IEEE 802.11b/g/a. Both products will be available through Nomadix' worldwide network of distributors, VARs and system integrators after September 22, 2003 and will list price for US$695 US$795 respectively.
