Buffalo Technology Digs Deeper Into Home Electronics With its New Compact Repeater Bridge

The Product Provides Extended Range With Antenna Support Plus Wireless Connectivity for Ethernet Devices

NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Buffalo Technology, the global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wireless networking solutions for home, SOHO and SMBs, announced today the AirStation 54Mbps Compact Repeater Bridge-g (WLA-G54C). The product is an enhanced version of the previous compact repeater bridge and now features antenna support. This affordable, easy-to-use WLAN product is designed to extend wireless communications in a home or office or bridge wired Ethernet devices to a wireless LAN.

"With any wireless network, coverage is an issue. Our bridge offers uninterrupted wireless network access with optimal coverage," stated Morikazu Sano, vice president of wireless at Buffalo Technology. "Our customers asked for antenna support for additional coverage and we addressed their needs by adding that feature. Now users can expect to see incredible wireless performance at the maximum range."

The WLA-G54C is a 54Mbps wireless bridge/repeater with a 10/100 Ethernet port that features Buffalo's unique Wireless Distribution System (WDS) to provide point-to-point or point-to-multi-point communication. The WLA-G54C is a multi-functional device in that it not only can connect Ethernet devices; it can simultaneously accept wireless client traffic and act as an access point. The product also supports external 2.4GHz antennas for increased range and performance.

The WLA-G54C supports communications with up to six other Buffalo base stations for superior performance and unbeatable coverage. The WLA-G54C supports Wi-Fi Protected Access(tm), 802.1X, 64/128-bit WEP, password protection and MAC address registration. This small yet robust AirStation Compact Bridge Base Station is configured via a web interface, which makes it the perfect solution for home, SOHO and SMBs.

Backed by a two-year limited warranty and 24/7, toll-free technical support, the AirStation 54Mbps Compact Repeater Bridge-g (WLA-G54C) will be available October 2003 at street price of $99.
