Consumers Financial Corporation Signs Lease to Begin Development of its First P.E.T. Scan Imaging Center

CEDARHURST, N.Y., Sept. 17, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Consumers Financial Corporation, (OTCBB:CFIN) announced today, that through its subsidiary P.E.T. Centers of America, LLC, it has signed a lease in a medical park located in Setauket, NY, to develop its first stand alone P.E.T. Scan Imaging Center.

The town of Setauket, located on Long Island, was chosen because of its close proximity to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Consumers Financial Corporation, for the purposes of expediting the process, hired an architect who has completed the design phase of the architectural program. Consumers will now move into the construction document phase and file for all necessary building permits. In addition, Dr. Azad K. Anand, the Company's radiology partner, has begun the process of evaluating and negotiating for the future acquisition of the Positron Emission Tomography (P.E.T.) Scan Imaging Equipment.

Consumers Management Group LLC, a Consumers Financial Corporation subsidiary, is a full service construction management firm responsible for overseeing and completing the construction of the center and all future centers.

Dr. Azad K. Anand, P.E.T. Centers of America LLC's Medical Director, stated "My in depth knowledge of P.E.T. technology, combined with Consumers Financial Corporation's commitment as a parent company with seasoned management, should put us on a fast track to becoming the leading P.E.T. Imaging Company in the New York market. He added, "As planned, we will also continue to evaluate our future expansion opportunities nationwide."

About P.E.T. Imaging

P.E.T. Imaging is the fastest growing diagnostics imaging procedure in medicine today. It is a sophisticated camera that produces powerful images of the human body's biological functions, rather than anatomy, and thereby identifies not only the failure of organ systems in disease earlier than most other diagnostic tests, but also identifies the progress of disease and the response to treatment.

The low level radioactivity detected by P.E.T. generates images for diagnosis and treatment. P.E.T. scan results show areas of abnormal glucose metabolism and identify precisely where disease is located, facilitating appropriate medical management based on the findings. Brain disorders, heart disease and most cancers are some of the life threatening diseases P.E.T. Imaging is able to identify.
