Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman's Fourth Polar Tanker Taking Shape

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 22, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Polar Adventure, the fourth of five double-hulled oil tankers being built by Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Ship Systems sector for ConocoPhillips, receives its final bow forepeak in New Orleans, La. The 110-ton forepeak is the last of 353 units, or modules, that make up the 895-foot-long ship.

Over the next several weeks, shipyard crews will complete the fitting and welding of the forepeak unit, as well as storage and mooring compartments in the ship's bow area. Shipbuilders will then complete the installation of ballast, cargo, and hydraulics systems aboard the ship, which is capable of transporting more than one million barrels of crude oil. Polar Adventure is scheduled for delivery early next year.
