Markland Technologies Appoints Two Key Advisory Board Members from the Defense and Security Sector to Compliment Integrated Homeland Security Company


RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Sept. 25, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Markland Technologies, Inc. (MKLD) (OTCBB:MKLD) , an integrated homeland security company, (www.marklandtech.com) announced today it has appointed two key members to its Advisory Board to enhance current management and the Boards expertise in security technology and defense contracting.

RADM Stephen Johnson, U.S. Navy (retired), and John W. Lindquist, CEO of an Information and Infrastructure Protection and Security Engineering Service have agreed to act as Advisory Board members and assist in facilitating the company's business model of growth and acquisitions within the security technology industry.

RADM Johnson is currently retired from the Naval Service following a 30-year career that included command of the Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine U.S. CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI (SSN-705); service as Major Acquisition Program Manager for Submarine Electronic Systems (PMS-401), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA); Program Director, Information Support Systems (PD-15), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR); and Project Director, Navy Year 2000 Project (CNO-N6Y).

Subsequent to his Naval service, RADM Johnson has served as a senior consultant to the commercial industry, government, and educational institutions. Rear Admiral (retired) Johnson is a Managing Director of Source Companies LLC, an investment banking consulting company providing debt capitalization and advisory services. Mr. Lindquist is also founder of SBS Consulting, Inc., which provides consulting services to commercial customers, government organizations, and educational institutions. In addition, RADM Johnson also serves as a Technology and Business Advisor to the William J. von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism and Technology Advancement at the Jacobs School of Engineering, University of California, and San Diego.

Mr. John W. Lindquist is currently the President and CEO of EWA Information and Infrastructure Technologies, Inc. EWA IIT provides Information and Infrastructure Protection and Security Engineering Services to a wide range of government and commercial customers. Some key IIT projects include:



 --  Development and sustainment of the ISO 21827 The System
     Security Engineering Capability Maturity Model,

 --  The US Army Information Operations Campaign Plan, a document
     detailing the long range plans for offensive and defensive
     operations

 --  System Security Engineering Studies for several Fortune 100

 --  Development of Computer Emergency Response Team concepts and
     implementation strategies both in the U.S. and Canada.

 Mr. Lindquist's other positions include:

     LLC. a joint venture among EW IIT, MANTECH, and Computer
     Associates, Inc. The joint venture provides Information
     Security, Computer Forensics, and Intelligence Support
     Services to the U.S. Military

 --  Chairman and CEO of EWA Infrastructure Engineering, LLC, a
     joint venture combining the capabilities of all the EWA
     companies to provide Infrastructure Support Services to
     government and commercial clients

 --  Managing Director of EWA Italia and is President of Thyraeus,
     an Italian venture providing Information and Infrastructure
     Protection Services to the Italian and European markets.

As previously announced, Markland Technologies Inc. will testify at the September 29, 2003 Congressional Hearing of the House Government Reform Committee's Subcommittee on National Security and Emerging Threats. The hearing panel, chaired by Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn), will focus on new counter-terrorism technology. Markland President Mr. Ken Ducey will testify before the committee.
