STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wihlborgs has sold seven properties in Stockholm and Malmo. At the same time, the properties Brantholmen 1 and 2 and Fagelholmen 1, 2 and 3 in Skarholmen have reverted to Wihlborgs, since it was not possible to close the deal. Overall this means that during the year 2003 Wihlborgs has hitherto sold 58 properties for SEK 1,980 million, at a total profit of SEK 300 million.
Five of the properties that have now been sold went to newly formed housing associations: three in Stockholm (Hagsatra) and two in Malmo. Following the sales, Wihlborgs retains six residential properties in Malmo. During 2002-2003 Wihlborgs has sold 53 residential properties in Malmo. Over the same period the company has sold 27 residential properties in Stockholm.
"We have consistently acted in accordance with the strategic plan, which states that residential property shall make up ten per cent of our portfolio. The sale of residential properties, including sales to housing associations, has thus proceeded at a fast pace," said Erik Paulsson, President end CEO, Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB.
