Looking at Reality With Eyes Full of Spiritual Hope -- New poetry collection gives readers positive outlook through God

KEITHVILLE, La., Sept. 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Day to day life can be a struggle, and life can often go in an unfortunate way. In her new book, The Way It Is (now available through 1stBooks), poet Ruthie Coleman writes about the things that can and cannot be changed, the power of hope and the spiritual role in facing troubles.

By writing about her love and innermost feelings, she realized it helped her encounter life's problems. "She has learned that with each day will come its own anxieties and that she should put her real trust in God Almighty, for that's just the way it is."

She hopes her poetry will offer a bright ray of hope to those who feel they are trapped in darkness. By portraying life like it really is, Coleman is able to shine a true light on what's truly happening in the world today.

In "That's Just the Way It Is," she illustrates her style: "Yesterday has come and gone and tomorrow is on its way./ Dreams will always be dreams, but it's reality that we/ face each day./ Promises are often/ made, but can sometimes be hard to keep./ Life can be such a roller coaster, that we can end up/ loosing a lot of sleep./ You struggle hard and try to prosper even then you might loose. /Sometime you question the path you took, all the same you had to choose./ Many are the broken hearts when someone you love let you down. /But to know who to trust is hard you see, when few/ Righteous can be found./ Time seem to keep on passing never stopping for you nor me./ So we have to make the best of it, as long as it's a righteous cause that we seek."

Whether it's for motivation or inspiration, readers seeking enlightenment and inner peace may find both within the pages of Coleman's touching work.

Coleman and her husband live in the rural community of Keithville, La. They have two sons, two daughters, two grandsons and two granddaughters. Her love of poetry and its effect on her life inspired her to complete this volume to express her deeply rooted connection to the Bible.
