NCC sells concrete operations in Norway for SEK 73 million

SOLNA, Sweden, Oct. 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- NCC Roads has sold its ready-mixed concrete operations in Norway to two Norwegian companies, Unicon and NorBetong. Unicon is acquiring one portion of the operations for approximately SEK 60 million (NOK 55.25 million) and NorBetong is acquiring the other portion for about SEK 13 million (NOK 11.75 million). The total sales price is approximately SEK 73 million (NOK 67 million). The sale will have a marginal impact on NCC's earnings for the third quarter of 2003.

The operations have 40 employees and generated sales of approximately SEK 160 million in 2002.

The divestment of the ready-mixed concrete activities in Norway is in line with the NCC Group's strategy of streamlining operations. In July this year, NCC Roads sold its ready-mixed concrete activities in Estonia, Latvia, Poland and St. Petersburg, as well as parts of its ready-mixed concrete activities in Finland. In August this year, NCC sold it shareholding in Betonelement of Denmark.
