HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) railway track maintenance division continues to add to its growing presence in the U.K. with a new order from Balfour Beatty Rail Plant, a Balfour Beatty Company, for two HTT-produced New Track Construction trains. Together with available options for maintenance support, training, and other support equipment, the order carries a potential value of approximately $5 million. Deliveries are expected to be made in the first half of 2004.
The units will support Balfour Beatty's upcoming track maintenance responsibilities on the U.K. Network Rail system throughout designated sections of England and Scotland. Balfour Beatty announced recently that it has been appointed by Network Rail as its preferred bidder for a number of requirements due to begin in April of next year.
