Somehow, the sheriff's department is involved and they realize no one can be trusted. They decide to leave Casey in hiding until they can get closer to wrapping up the investigation.
As they continue to investigate, the frustration and anger surfaces when Cody and Nick realize the witness is right. With no one to trust but each other and their families, they set out to expose the corrupt cop. When Tex Tyler saunters into town, they add one more ally, even though Tex is only there to court Cody's sister, Traci. When the country club's spring dance rolls around, Cody and Nick use it as a perfect opportunity to introduce their secret witness. What happens will shock them and the reader.
