Telematics Executives Pave the Way for Growth in the Consumer Telematics Markets at the Lead-Up to 2004 International CES

LAS VEGAS, Nev., Oct. 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telematics products and services steadily are making their way into more car, truck and van models as vehicles are transforming into huge, sophisticated computers on wheels.

In the latest CEA Market Research study, `Mobile Telematics Interest and Awareness,' 87 percent of auto owners report familiarity with telematics devices, up from 61 percent six years earlier.

On the aftermarket side, estimates are that the number of telematics systems sold in the U.S. more than doubled from 285,000 in 2001 to 636,000 last year. Sales are projected to grow to more than 1.1 million units in 2003 and 1.6 million by 2006.

The telematics industry is looking for revenue streams to flow to new vehicle-based entertainment services.

That's why Telematics Update Magazine -- acknowledged as a focal point of the global telematics community -- is bringing the Consumer Telematics Seminar 2004 to CES International. Hear how telematics executives are paving the way for growth in the consumer telematics markets by driving a new generation of services and applications to increase bottom line profits.

On January 7, one day before 2004 International CES, the stage will be set in Las Vegas to bring together major players from each segment of the value chain to discuss the challenges and opportunities set in this growth market.

This exclusive one-day seminar will cover key issues that need to be solved in order to accelerate in-car telematics into profitability. Attendees will hear speeches and case studies from leading industry experts including Ford, DaimlerChrysler, iBiquity, Renesas, Texas Instruements, AMI-C and many more.
