Volvo Trucks receives order for 150 FH12s from Turkey


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Oct. 15, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Volvo Trucks (Nasdaq:VOLVY)(Other OTC:VOLVF) (Other OTC:VOLAFK) has signed an agreement with Turkish Ekol covering delivery of 150 FH12 4x2 trucks. Deliveries begin in mid-October 2003.

Ekol is one of the largest transport firms in Turkey, with about 400 employees and operations including road and sea shipments and airfreight. The order is for 150 Volvo FH12 4x2 trucks and deliveries begin in mid- October.

Volvo is represented in Turkey by the joint market company Volvo Turk, with about 100 employees. Volvo Turk was established in 1994 and holds a market share of about 17% of the imported heavy truck segment.

Volvo has about 20 service workshops in Turkey that are owned by private partners.
